Decided to try this spot due to the excellent reviews on Google. Barista wasn’t very friendly. She took her sweet time to acknowledge me and didn’t even say hello. Cafe has a nice vibe. Drinks are a bit overpriced, paid $14 for a salted caramel cold brew, a carton of chocolate milk and 4 cups of water. The barista never made my drink and after seeing other customers after me take theirs, she told me upon inquiry someone took my coffee but made me another one. It wasn’t that busy at the time, because there were only 2 drinks after my order. Now for the coffee, the taste was decent but not worth the hype, I’ve had better.
A spacious and artful location that’s true to brand. The coffee shines here at this local, multi-location roaster who offers single origins and blends that are the true essence of craft coffee.
This location can get rather busy, and the staff handle the volume well.
Good shots, proper pours and well crafted coffee beverages make this location your go to morning spot when your in or near Rosemary Beach.
Extremely unfriendly staff today who didn’t jive with the vibe of Amavida. Amavida means “Love life,” in Spanish, and from the jewelry and chocolates on sale it was obvious the company wants to benefit women from other lands, similar to other coffee shop initiatives such as Pachamama or even Starbucks.
But these two people behind the counter today were unfriendly, even with each other. At the end of 10 minutes of observing them, I asked, “What’s the mission statement of Amavida?” The unsmiling lead barista said, “Amavida is a coffee shop.” “But…you have bracelets you’re selling for native artisans…so do you benefit indigenous women?” “Yes, those are bracelets,” she said with raised eyebrows. “But doesn’t Amavida benefit those women?” I asked. “Oh…yes,” the person waved at the plaques on the wall and said, “You can read about that there. And if you still have questions you can go to the Amavida website.” The barista with long hair was also unsmiling when I asked for sugar and she waved dismissively toward the shelf by the door and said, “You put it in over there.”
To cap it off, the barista with long hair brewed the cortado incorrectly so that it was super acidic.
The overall impression was these two people torpedoed this coffee shop experience for me today.
A Gem of a Coffee Experience at Amavida
Visiting Amavida Coffee both in Rosemary Beach and Seaside turned out to be a highlight of my Florida trip. The ambiance of both locations is a perfect blend of comfort and artistic flair, making each visit a unique experience. Their commitment to sustainability is evident not just in their delicious organic coffee, but also in the range of sustainable products like the sweatshirts, which are not only eco-friendly but stylish too.
The latte in Rosemary Beach was crafted to perfection, offering the right balance of espresso and milk - a true delight for any coffee lover. Meanwhile, the Seaside location impressed me with its delightful cheese Danish and scrumptious macarons, each bite better than the last. The variety and quality of their pastries are commendable.
What truly sets Amavida apart, though, is the beautiful art that adorns their walls, adding an enriching layer to the overall experience. It's not just a coffee shop; it's a celebration of local culture and artistry. I highly recommend Amavida Coffee to anyone looking for exceptional coffee, delightful treats, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Amavida is a must-visit destination.
Not really recommending.
We visited here on our vacation to Rosemary beach last week and I got my hopes up and very disappointed ☹️
The barista was not friendly at all even though she was not busy, all customers were just me and my husband in the store.
She didn't even say "hello" or didn't welcome us at all.
Iced coffee and matcha latte was just okay.
The owner should train the barista for sure so she can treat customers better.
Until then, I won't go back again. 👎🏻
Great local coffee shop in Rosemary Beach area. Nice and cozy with solid coffee selections and at home brew ware. Definitely stop in and get a caffeine burst while you’re shopping around.
Great coffee! The lavender latte was fantastic, we came back for another one the next day! Prices were high, but not surprising for Rosemary Beach. Great staff that was very well trained at making a good cup of coffee.
Espresso coffee is poor quality, and the cashier kid seemed like he didn't want to be there. …
